Position Overview:
Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Children’s Behavioral Health Care Navigator (1294) to deliver trauma-informed care and skills training to youth (ages 3-17) and families across Amarillo and the surrounding service area of the Texas Panhandle. This role is ideal for human services graduates looking to gain direct clinical experience in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful trauma-informed care language.
- Complete initial assessment during intake and link individuals to community resources.
- Provide clinic coverage as needed to help cover scheduled appointments.
- Work with a flexible schedule and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- Enter documentation within 48 hours of service delivery.
- Teach and role model skills that address community living, social, coping, problem solving, anger management, parenting, and self-control skills to youth and families.
- Train in Texas Resilience and Recovery (TRR) approved curriculums that emphasize evidence-based practices to help improve daily functioning.
- Organize and provide culturally competent care activities and collaborate among all participants involved with the youth’s care.
- Conduct assessment and treatment planning, work within the team to ensure appropriate services are delivered, provide outreach and education to engage families, and utilize a family & person-centered approach to help identify strategies and objectives.
- Provide direct, community-based care (approx. 50%+ of working time spent face-to-face or via phone in home/community settings with the youth, family, and/or family support).
- Assist and collaborate with the children’s and adult behavioral health team to promote skills development.
- Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.
Qualifications & Credentials:
Education & Credentials (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related Human Services field (required for QMHP credentialing).
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
- At least 18 years of age.

Experience Level Tiering:
- Case Manager II ($43,305.60/yr): Minimum 1 year of behavioral health case management experience.
- Case Manager III ($46,009.60/yr): Minimum 2 years of behavioral health case management experience.
- Graduate-level coursework in a related field may substitute for up to 1 year of required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
- Experience working with youth and families.
