MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in the Human Services Field with minimum of 5 years of experience working with children and families. Previous experience working in a Children's Advocacy Center environment is strongly favored. Strong communication skills. Able to work well with a variety of disciplines. Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently. Maintains confidentiality policies. Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and web management. Valid driver’s license in state of residence. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job. The incumbent must be able to pass any required drug test. Background investigation required.




Lead Forensic Interviewer:

  1. Maintain strict standards of confidentiality 
  2. Assist in scheduling and coordinating forensic interviews of alleged child victims of abuse
  3. Coordinate interview schedules with members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  4. Use established protocol to conduct forensic interviews of children regarding alleged sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, or witness to violence
  5. Obtain information from MDT members and/or non-offending caregiver of the child prior to the interview
  6. Ensure the psychosocial well-being of the child during the interview
  7. Facilitate MDT pre and post interview staffing and other case review meetings
  8. Document a summary to support interview findings to update and maintain the case
  9. Make any necessary recommendations regarding needed follow-up for the child and the family
  10. Liaison between Law Enforcement, District Attorney, Prosecutor’s office, DSS and other community agencies as needed. 
  11. Maintain knowledge of new research and developments in forensic interviewing of and abuse investigations
  12. Prepare for and testify in civil and criminal court proceedings regarding general interview processes and techniques, as well as interviews conducted regarding individual cases
  1. Participate in Case Review and Multidisciplinary team meetings. Attend other meetings and in-services, professional training and conferences as self-directed or requested by the CAC Director. 
  1. Participate in and provide training to staff and volunteers, other agencies and the community in various areas regarding child sexual and physical abuse as well as interview protocols and child development levels
  2. Participate in a minimum of 40 hours of initial forensic interview training
  3. Participate in internal and regional peer reviews at a minimum of two per year
  4. Participate in ongoing education in the field of child maltreatment and/or forensic interviewing consisting of a minimum of 8 contact hours every 2 years. 

 

Other duties may be assigned as needed as requested by CAC Director, Chief of CBS and the CEO/President.
