As a Business Development Specialist with StepStone Family & Youth Services, part of the BrightSpring Health Services family, you’ll drive growth by connecting communities, referral partners, and prospective foster families to opportunities that change lives.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional business development plans to increase foster home capacity, referrals, placements, and retention.
• Build and maintain relationships with state agencies, caseworkers, placement teams, community organizations, schools, faith-based groups, and other referral sources.
• Promote StepStone's programs and services through community outreach, presentations, networking events, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop targeted recruitment strategies to attract prospective foster families and maintain a strong recruitment pipeline.
• Partner with operations, licensing, and clinical teams to align foster home capacity with placement needs and improve home utilization.
• Monitor referral trends, placement activity, market conditions, and competitive factors to identify growth opportunities.
• Support foster parent engagement and retention initiatives through relationship building, recognition efforts, and ongoing communication.
• Maintain accurate records of business development activities, contacts, pipelines, and performance metrics within designated CRM systems.
• Prepare and communicate regular reports on recruitment, referrals, placements, and business development outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings, growth strategy discussions, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in business development, sales, account management, foster care, human services, healthcare, or related industry.
• Demonstrated success building relationships and achieving measurable growth objectives.
• Experience using CRM systems and performance reporting tools preferred.

• Strong business development, strategic planning, and relationship management skills.
• Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop action-oriented solutions.
• Self-motivated, organized, and results driven.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Commitment to serving children, youth, and families.

Travel Requirements

• Ability to travel throughout the assigned market as needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
