Youth Counselor (Bilingual Spanish Preferred)

At Xiente, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. We're seeking a passionate, compassionate, and dedicated Youth Counselor to join our IPS 54K Program and make a lasting impact in the lives of youth and families across Philadelphia.
This is more than a counseling position. It's an opportunity to become a mentor, advocate, role model, and source of support for young people navigating some of life's most difficult challenges.
Why This Role Matters
As a Youth Counselor, you will work directly with youth ages 10-19 who may be experiencing challenges related to:
- School attendance and discipline
- Family conflict
- Community violence
- Trauma and emotional stress
- Behavioral concerns
- Substance use
- Social and peer-related challenges
Through counseling, mentorship, advocacy, and family engagement, you'll help young people develop confidence, resilience, healthy coping skills, and positive pathways toward success.
What You'll Do
Make a Difference Through Counseling
- Provide individual counseling and support services to youth.
- Facilitate engaging evidence-based group sessions.
- Help youth develop problem-solving, decision-making, and emotional regulation skills.
- Support youth in overcoming barriers and achieving personal, behavioral, and academic goals.
- Respond to crisis situations with professionalism and compassion.
Partner with Families
- Build meaningful relationships with parents and caregivers.
- Conduct home visits to assess needs and strengthen family support systems.
- Empower families by connecting them to resources and community supports.
- Facilitate family engagement activities and workshops.
Advocate for Youth
- Collaborate with schools, counselors, and community partners.
- Conduct school visits and advocate for positive educational outcomes.
- Help young people access services, opportunities, and resources that support long-term success.
Coordinate Care & Support
- Develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
- Monitor participant progress and outcomes.
- Maintain case notes, assessments, and documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case review meetings.

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience working with youth and adolescents.
- Experience with counseling, case management, behavioral health, or youth development programming.
- Experience working with at-risk, underserved, or justice-involved youth strongly preferred.
- Experience facilitating groups and family engagement activities.
- Fluent Spanish and English bilingual communication skills preferred.

Schedule
Monday-Friday | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- One monthly Family Engagement event (6:00 PM-7:00 PM)
- Occasional evening community activities as needed
