Program Overview:

Our Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) enhances the knowledge, skills and confidence of parents; giving parents clear strategies to respond to their children’s needs, create a nurturing environment, and promote attachment. The evidence-based model is implemented individually with families in their homes and in a group setting. 

Job Overview 

The Bilingual Counselor/Practitioner provides individualized and group-based parenting support to families by completing assessments, developing goal-oriented intervention plans, and delivering evidence-based services that promote positive child development and family well-being. This role maintains a caseload, collaborates with community partners, participates in clinical supervision, and ensures timely, accurate documentation in accordance with program and organizational standards.

As an integrated health organization Acenda values the use of evidence-based practice or EBP's.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Carry a caseload of up to 8 families 
  • Facilitate 3 Triple P groups annually serving 8 –12 parents per group 
  • Complete assessments of families and children 
  • Aid families in the development of their goals for change and implement and adjust interventions to align with family goals 
  • Conduct sessions with families focusing on child development, managing misbehavior, encouraging independent routine and child play.  
  • Participate in weekly supervision    
  • Collaborate with peers, DCP&P, and other community providers to effectively implement the Triple P individual and group intervention. 
  • Complete necessary documentation required for Triple P and Acenda. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field. 
  • At least one year of experience working with families experiencing trauma, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness and child abuse and/or neglect.  
  • Ability to facilitate positive interactions and work collaboratively with families. 
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills. 
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record.  

Additional Information: 

  • Starting Base Rate: $24.03
  • Sign-on Bonus: $750
  • Bilingual rate: An additional $1.50 added to the base rate if Spanish proficient
