 Job Description

Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Administrative Director of the BHCC to work in Valdosta, Georgia.

The Administrative Director of the BHCC is responsible for directing the overall functions of the services and/or work units assigned. The Administrative Director is responsible for the overall accountability of facilities and services provided 7 days a week/24 hours a day.

Participates with the CCO to establish and evaluate Department goals and objectives that support the Organization's Strategic Mission and Goals. Responsible for helping to position Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia as the leading provider of behavioral health services in its current and future markets through product line development and implementation.

Coordinates and supervises operations of the Department; facilitates intradepartmental and interdepartmental communication and activities, ensuring the delivery of quality services. Maintains performance improvement activities within the Department and ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Maintains financial control of the Department. Participates in interviewing, hiring, discharge, and evaluation of staff in all areas of responsibility. Provides for the growth and development of staff.

Maintains working relationships with the Medical Director, staff, physicians, NPs, and leaders from other areas. Acts as a liaison for consumers; follows up on consumer complaints or expressed concerns and refers them to the proper avenue for resolution.

Maintains safety and security of the building. Serves as a liaison between the BHCC Department and IT Department and serves as a knowledgeable resource for utilization of the electronic medical record.

 This position requires:

  • RN/BSN or LCSW, LMFT, LPC.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the management of a health care service organization; psychiatric/behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to research, regulatory standards for behavioral health, including CARF, OSHA, Medicare, and DBHDD.
  • Thorough understanding of service line management, payor sources, and public relations skills required.
  • Planning, communicating, teambuilding, networking, writing, listening, leading, motivating, and critical thinking skills are necessary for success.
  • Requires basic computer skills. Thorough understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of EMR.
  • Ability to analyze data for improvement opportunities.
  • Utilizes discretion in handling the organization's confidential information and consumer-protected information.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

 Physical Demands

Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations.

May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing.

Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational, and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off-campus locations throughout BHSGA or use of a personal vehicle.

May be requested on occasion to travel to conferences and meetings as an organization representative. Must be able to make arrangements to attend these as required.
