Muskegon Family Care is looking for a Part- Time BH Therapist for Child/Adolescent to join our Supportive & Collaborative Team. Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Director or Behavioral Health Manager and in collaboration with Medical Staff Providers, Behavioral Health Therapist will provide evidence-based practices according to nationally based standards to reduce symptoms and maximize recovery for patients receiving services. The Behavioral Health Therapist will be responsible for providing therapy sessions to children, and adolescents struggling with behavioral health needs. They will ensure that all documentation of patient contract and treatment services is complete, thorough, and accurate to meet all agencies, state, CARF, and professional standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately complete assessment and diagnosis of mental health and psychosocial needs that accurately build on strengths and concerns.
- Complete all required paperwork (clinical and billing) in a timely manner, daily for billing and 24-48 hours for patient charting.
- Promote self-determination to assure services and support for patients are person centered, person-defined and person controlled.
- Assist patients with treatment planning that highlights important assessment information, defines areas of concern and establishes concrete goals for treatment.
- Provide effective therapy services including various evidence-based treatment modalities (individual, and group) as appropriate to client need in the cooperation with other staff and providers. Completely needed testing as appropriate to discipline.
- Implement or be willing to learn lay therapy techniques.
- Provide care coordination with all organizations involved in client’s treatment (schools, medical provider, courts etc.)
- Evaluate the progress of the client’s treatment quarterly with client (team and supervisor as appropriate).
- Work as a member of a treatment team, providing expertise and case consultation to other providers and staff, on an as needed basis, through case management meetings and through formal presentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Muskegon Family Care patient information. Information shared with Child and Family Services staff for supervision should not reveal the identity of the patient.
- Regular and prompt attendance at work.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Licensure
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (LMSW ) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- Valid professional license from the State of Michigan with designation as a qualified mental health professional per Medicaid regulations.
