Position Summary
The Behavioral Supports Manager provides leadership and clinical oversight to a team of Behavior Specialists while maintaining a caseload of up to 8 people. This role oversees the development and implementation of person-centered behavioral support services, including functional behavior assessments and Positive Behavioral Support Plans. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, the Behavioral Supports Manager ensures services align with Everyday Lives principles, evidence-based practices, and regulatory requirements to promote positive outcomes and enhance quality of life for the people we support.


Key Responsibilities



Provide strategic and operational leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Achieva’s Behavioral Supports program, establishing a person-centered, evidence-based model aligned with Achieva’s mission, values, and commitment to everyday lives.


 Ensure the rights, preferences, goals, choices, and voices of each person supported are consistently respected and fully integrated into all aspects of service planning and delivery.


 Lead with a strong commitment to what matters most to the individual, ensuring all services are individualized, meaningful, and aligned with each person’s vision for a quality life.


Foster and maintain effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including individuals supported, families, Behavior Specialists, Direct Support Professionals, Support Coordinators, therapists, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated and holistic supports.


Build and sustain a culture of professionalism, accountability, and respect while serving as a role model for Achieva’s mission, values, and person-centered principles.


Provide clinical oversight, supervision, consultation, and ongoing coaching to Behavior Specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and effective behavioral support services.


Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of Behavior Specialists, ensuring competency in Positive Behavioral Supports and person-centered practices.


Ensure consistent implementation of evidence-based Positive Behavioral Support strategies focused on prevention, skill development, and least restrictive, restraint-free approaches.


Oversee the development, review, and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments and individualized Behavioral Support Plans, including related safety plans, risk mitigation strategies, and intervention protocols.


Ensure compliance with Individual Support Plans (ISP), applicable state regulations (including Pennsylvania Chapter 6100, where applicable), and all contractual and documentation requirements.


Lead ongoing evaluation of Behavioral Support Services by analyzing outcomes, implementing best practices, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives across the program.


Oversee accurate, timely, and complete documentation of services and ensure quality assurance across all behavioral support records and reports.


Collaborate with clinical and external partners, including psychiatric and psychological providers, by sharing behavioral data, progress updates, and implementation feedback to support informed decision-making.


Perform additional duties as assigned to support program development, organizational priorities, and service excellence


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Social Work, Special Education, Education, Gerontology, or a related human services field.
Current Pennsylvania licensure or certification as a behavioral or mental health professional (Psychologist, LCSW, LSW, LPC, LMFT, LAPC, Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS), CRNP, BCBA, or BCaBA), or another credential recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Office of Developmental Programs.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing behavioral support services to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Positive Behavioral Support Plans.
Supervisory or clinical leadership experience and experience working within Pennsylvania ODP waiver services preferred.
Pennsylvania Licensed Social Worker (LSW) preferred.
Successful completion of training in functional behavioral assessment and positive behavioral supports.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the people receiving support and the organization, including after-hours on-call.
Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable vehicle for local travel.
Passion for serving people with intellectual disabilities and a commitment to their well-being.
A valid Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist License issued by the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Valid driver's license.
Satisfactory Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) Certification required within one (1) year of employment.
