Behavioral Health Therapist Associate

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Twin Lakes is excited to welcome a passionate and driven Behavioral Health Therapist Associate to our team!

Join a compassionate, multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping adults and adolescents achieve recovery, improve mental wellness, and build healthier lives. Our trauma-informed outpatient program provides comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment, including Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient services for adults, outpatient counseling for adolescents, individual and group therapy, and adult medication management in collaboration with an on-site psychiatrist. We focus on treating the whole person through a person-centered approach that supports lasting recovery and wellness.

In this role, you will provide clinical treatment services to adults and adolescents, including comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, case management, service coordination, advocacy, and resource linkage. Services are delivered across multiple levels of care, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and traditional outpatient services, supporting individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

You'll join a supportive, collaborative team that values high-quality patient care and professional growth. Regular team meetings with our psychiatrist support coordinated treatment planning, while evidence-based approaches such as CBT, MI, DBT, and EMDR help guide patient care.

Key Information: 

• Schedule: M-F, Daylight with some evening hours as needed to support the team as needed. No weekends, holidays or on-call required. 
• Location: 223 S. Pleasant Ave, 15501
• Dress Code: Business Casual

Responsibilities:
 

• Engage potential clients, identify barriers to participation, and gather relevant psychiatric, substance use, and referral information to support continuity of care. 
• Under supervision, conduct assessments and screenings, assist with provisional diagnoses, and contribute to individualized treatment planning based on patient's needs. 
• Provide individual and group therapy, recovery education, and family involvement as appropriate while promoting patient self-management and recovery. 
• Collaborate with the treatment team and community resources to monitor progress, coordinate services, and facilitate referrals or transitions to appropriate levels of care. 

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, case management activities, and authorization-related information, while participating in quality improvement efforts. 

   

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
• Completion of a human services related internship/practicum OR 1 year of relevant human services experience.
• Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process preferred.

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
