Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) | Older Adult Program | Evening Shift

Schedule: Evening Shift 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, one weekday per week plus every other weekend (16 hours per week)
Work Setting: Fully Onsite
Starting Pay: $20.25 per hour plus eligible for a 10 percent shift differential
Bonus: Sign on bonus eligible for evening shift only

Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking dependable and motivated Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to support a structured residential behavioral health program serving adults with serious mental illness and complex care needs. This program is designed for individuals who require a higher level of support and have not fully benefited from traditional outpatient or hospital-based services.

The program provides a highly structured, therapeutic environment focused on stability, recovery, and improving daily functioning. Residents receive integrated care through a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on dignity, consistency, and individualized treatment planning.

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a key role in supporting daily routines, reinforcing treatment goals, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment while working closely with nurses and clinical staff.

Important
All new hires must be able to attend a mandatory 5-day orientation Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM before starting their schedule. Attendance is required for employment.

Responsibilities
• Provide direct care and behavioral support to residents
• Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, meals, and mobility
• Monitor resident behavior and report changes in condition
• Support therapeutic, recreational, and group activities
• Utilize de-escalation and trauma informed techniques during behavioral incidents
• Document observations and interactions in the electronic health record
• Reinforce individualized treatment plans and behavioral goals
• Maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment
• Accompany residents to appointments, activities, and meetings
• Conduct routine rounds and support overall unit operations

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of direct care experience
• 12 or more college credits in human services strongly preferred
• Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or addiction services preferred
• CPR certification required from a hands-on course
• Must meet requirements under the Older Adults Protective Services Act
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
