Location: Redding

 

This position is based at Hill Country’s urgent mental health resource center, the CARE Center (Counseling and Recovery Engagement Center), which is in downtown Redding and open 365 days/year from 12pm-9pm on weekdays, and 11am-9pm on weekends and holidays. All services and resources are available cost-free to anyone. Most people seeking help at the CARE Center present with urgent mental health or trauma-related concerns, very serious relationship problems, suicidal thoughts, addiction-related difficulties, or other complicated life stressors.  Many are seeking help with basic needs and some people come in frightened, sorrowful, frustrated, or highly agitated. We serve all ages and everyone is welcome. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Licensed Clinicians are responsible for the provision of psychotherapy services.

ACSW or AMFT registered Clinicians work under clinical supervision in the provision of psychotherapy services.  

Our compensation structure recognizes both experience and level of licensure. Associate clinicians (ACSW, AMFT, APCC) generally begin at the lower end of the range, with opportunities for advancement as they gain experience and achieve licensure. Fully licensed clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) are eligible for higher starting salaries based on their experience and qualifications.

 

We are committed to supporting associate clinicians throughout their supervised practice and professional development, with opportunities for salary advancement upon obtaining independent licensure in accordance with Hill Country's compensation structure.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned which may become essential to the position. 

 


Provides immediate, in-person crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services to individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies within our community.
Conduct face-to-face psychiatric assessments and crisis evaluations at CARE Center
De-escalate crisis situations using trauma-informed, culturally competent, and evidence-based practices.
Determine appropriate level of care and make referrals to outpatient, inpatient, detox, or shelter services as needed.
Coordinate closely with primary care teams, case managers, peer support specialists, and psychiatric team within the FQHC and CCBHC framework.
Provide follow-up support to ensure stabilization and connection to treatment services.
Document all services in a timely and thorough manner using EHR per clinical and billing standards.
Engage in community outreach, education, and stigma-reduction activities.
Build effective relationships with a wide variety of clients and, whenever appropriate, their families and other significant persons
Performs comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
Develops person-, family-centered psychotherapy goals and intervention strategies, often as a part of a broader team-based care plan.
Provides ongoing psychotherapy interventions and facilitates transitions in care, as appropriate
Collaboration with others to ensure optimal care (e.g. clients, caregivers, primary care, psychiatric specialty care, case managers and other persons clients’ identify important to their care
Arrange for care coordination activities to support clients, as needed.
Makes referrals to appropriate resources and services as needed
Complete timely documentation for services rendered and contacts with clients
Participate in BH department meetings, group case consultation discussions and training.
Provide clinical support as needed to integrated care teams.
Responsible for maintaining professional licensure or registration with CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

.Education/Experience:

Master or Doctorate Level degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.  Must have prior experience as provider. Experience working with individuals with SMI, SED and SUD and in rural community preferred.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

Current licensure or Associate registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California; Current drivers’ license and insurance.

 

Language Ability:

Must have intermediate level language skills.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before individuals, groups or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Must have basic math skills.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Must have very high-level reasoning skills.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet browsers. Must have working experience with medical management software such as Health Pro.

 

Equipment Skills:

Proficient with computers, printers, copiers, multi-line telephone systems.
