Behavior Consultant

Summary:

This position is responsible for providing behavioral support services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

FLSA Status: Exempt 

This position is responsible for providing behavioral support services for individuals with developmental disabilities, which includes:

· Complete comprehensive assessments

· Develop positive behavioral support plans

· Provide training to individuals, families, direct support staff and other Individualized Support Team (IST) members

· Responsible for ensuring that all behavior support services identified and agreed upon by the client's team are delivered in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with all applicable internal and external regulations

· Utilize state-approved templates

· Complete all required documentation within state mandated timelines 

· Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned 

Requirements

· Behavioral Competence: Extensive knowledge of human development, learning theories and behavioral principles. 

· Assessment and Data Analysis: Ability to conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), collect, interpret, and use data or graphs to track progress and modify Behavior plans. 

· Understanding professional codes of conduct, privacy laws, and health regulations. 

· Apply time management skills. 

· Effective written and verbal communication, along with active listening skills.

· Ability to work cooperatively and build positive working relationships with others.

· Sound problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing situations.

· Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding when working with others.

Education and Experience:

· Require a Master's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or other related majors.

· Prefer previous experience in a human services field and/or experience with individuals with disabilities 

· A minimum of 2 years of experience providing behavior support services preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Be able to lift boxes, etc. not weighing more than 50lbs
