This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily operations, activities, and supportive services for older adults participating in CAO’s senior program. Develops engaging wellness, educational, and social programing while ensuring compliance with federal, state, county, agency, and funding requirements.  Supports outreach, community partnerships, and volunteer engagement.  Refers participants to other agency support services while promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 



Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the Ageless Wonders senior program and related programming. 





Plan, coordinate, and actively participate in senior activities including wellness initiatives, educational workshops, fitness activities, technology instruction, arts and crafts, games, cultural programming, and intergenerational events. 





Develop, maintain, and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters, and program schedules. 





Ensure participants remain actively engaged through varied and inclusive programming. 





Conduct outreach and recruitment efforts to increase senior participation and community awareness of services. 





Coordinate congregate meal and nutrition activities in accordance with applicable guidelines and health standards. 





Maintain accurate participant records, attendance logs, activity reports, meal counts, and other required documentation. 





Prepare and submit reports and statistical data in accordance with agency and funding source requirements. 





Ensure compliance with federal, state, county, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures. 





Connect seniors with agency case managers for referrals to supportive services including benefit assistance, food access, transportation, housing, healthcare, and mental health resources. 





Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and senior-serving outings. 





Support volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts. 





Maintain a welcoming, respectful, safe, and culturally inclusive environment for all participants. 





Assist with grant-related activities, program development, and funding proposals. 



 

Secondary Responsibilities:  

 



Must present a professional image in conduct, attitude, and attire. 





Satisfactory completion of mandatory training. 





Additional duties as assigned. 



 

 
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS 

 

Education and Experience: 

 



Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, Gerontology, Public Health, Recreation, Community Services, or related field. 





Two (2) years’ experience in a related field  





Supervisory experience preferred. 



  

Skills and Abilities:   

 



Knowledge of senior services, aging populations, and community resources. 





Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities and events. 





Strong written and verbal communication skills. 





Ability to establish effective working relationships with participants, staff, volunteers, and community agencies. 





Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 





Strong commitment in maintaining confidentiality and professionalism 





Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 





Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands: 

 



Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods. 





Must be able to walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, and crouch. 





Ability to perform activities with participants. 





Must have hand and finger coordination for typing, writing, and using office equipment. 





Close vision is required for reading documents and computer screens. 





Must be able to speak and hear to communicate with participants, volunteers, staff, and other community agencies.  





Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds.

Physical examination record or pass physical examination by a CAO physician 





Valid NYS Driver’s License and proof of motor vehicle insurance coverage 





Completion of the following documents: 





CAO Employment application 





NYS SCR Clearance Form with acceptable clearance 





Criminal Record Certification and free of criminal convictions of crimes against children (misdemeanor or felony) 





Fingerprinting required.
