The Alcohol Enforcement Team (AET) Coordinator is responsible for fostering and managing partnerships with law enforcement agencies, local businesses, schools, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to advance the prevention of underage drinking, impaired driving, and alcohol and substance misuse in the 5th and 11th Judicial Circuits. This position serves as a key community-facing representative of LRADAC’s prevention efforts and is responsible for coordinating enforcement activities while advancing community education, prevention messaging, public awareness, and evidence-based prevention strategies. The AET Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates strategic prevention initiatives; provides education and training to diverse audiences; delivers regular presentations and speaking engagements; and actively participates in community events and collaborative prevention efforts. Managing and strengthening these relationships is integral to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic planning, programming, community education, enforcement partnerships, and training opportunities designed to reduce underage drinking and impaired driving and promote healthier, safer communities.


Position Logistics

  • 37.5-hour work week (5-day work week)
  • Routinely 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM shifts Monday - Friday 
  • Flex work schedule as approved by supervisor. 

Education, Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, community-based social work, or related field. 
  • Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Three years of relevant experience in the field of public health, social work, or related field. 
  • Certified as a prevention specialist through the SC Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates, or able to complete the certification process within first three years of employment. 


Position Overview

  • Coordinates and oversees all aspects of AET operations within the 5th and 11th Judicial Circuits, including identifying and securing law enforcement partners, scheduling and monitoring enforcement activities, managing the program budget, maintaining partner contracts and multijurisdictional agreements, and scheduling and facilitating Law Enforcement Advisory Council and Key Officer Meetings. Monitors program deliverables, evaluates program effectiveness, recommends adaptations as needed, and prepares required reports for management, funders, and other stakeholders. Attend all statewide AET Coordinator Meetings and required training.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships and community relationships with law enforcement agencies, local businesses, schools, community organizations, prevention coalitions, civic organizations, and other key stakeholders to strengthen community capacity to prevent underage drinking, impaired driving, and substance misuse. Identifies and facilitates networking, outreach, and collaborative opportunities and represents LRADAC at community events, regional meetings, partner meetings, health fairs, prevention campaigns, and other public-facing activities. 
  • Serves as a community educator and prevention spokesperson by regularly developing and delivering presentations, speaking engagements, workshops, trainings, and educational programs addressing underage drinking, impaired driving, alcohol and substance misuse prevention, responsible alcohol practices, and related public health and safety topics. Provides prevention education to diverse audiences, including youth, parents, educators, businesses, law enforcement, civic organizations, community groups, and other stakeholders. 
  • Conducts and supports program-specific education and training opportunities including, but not limited to, the Palmetto Retailers Education Program (PREP), Tobacco Education Program (TEP), and Alcohol Education Program (AEP). Identifies, develops, and recommends additional training and educational opportunities that support LRADAC’s prevention and community education goals. 
  • Uses the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and evidence-based prevention principles to support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community initiatives related to underage drinking, impaired driving, substance misuse, and related prevention priorities across the lifespan. Actively participates in the evaluation of LRADAC’s Prevention Department initiatives and recommends program improvements and adaptations based on identified needs and outcomes. 
  • Supports and participates in impaired driving prevention efforts in Lexington and Richland Counties through community education, public awareness, prevention campaigns, partnerships, outreach, and collaborative initiatives designed to reduce impaired driving and related harms. 
  • Develops and supports prevention-focused public awareness and outreach efforts by assisting with educational materials, prevention campaigns, community messaging, and other communication strategies designed to increase awareness of the risks and consequences associated with underage drinking, impaired driving, and substance misuse.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation and reporting of services, presentations, training, community outreach, partnerships, enforcement activities, and other program deliverables in accordance with funder and agency requirements.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
