Job Summary

The Recruitment Specialist identifies and engages prospective adoptive families for children whose parental rights have been terminated, with a focus on achieving permanency. This role uses child-specific and innovative recruitment strategies, working closely with internal teams and community partners to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive in a permanent home.

Essential Job Duties


Carries a caseload of 20-25 children with special needs who are awaiting adoption; meets with the child monthly to get to know the child and to develop trust and openness.
Recruit adoptive families through speaking engagements, making and maintaining contact with the local media, and through other means.
Perform a diligent search for an appropriate adoptive family and follow-up on all persons who know the child, have expressed an interest in the child, and/or have had a positive relationship with the child.
Report recruitment activities to the court during scheduled Adoption Status Hearings, as requested.
Review home studies from prospective adoptive parents.
Maintain child specific recruitment plans for all children on the caseload.
Field inquiries from the Adoption hotline and website.
Complete required recruitment site profiles and assessments to include: Family Match, AUK, and FSFN’s Statewide Adoption Exchange
Perform other duties as assigned


 

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in social work or related area of study from an accredited college or university required.
Three years of experience in human services or child welfare programs. At least one year of adoption experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license.


Schedule & Hours

Monday-Friday between the hours 8:00am-5:00pm (Hybrid schedule post training)

Once the offered candidate accepts, they must complete the following:

Clear a local background check from the County in which you reside – you need to go to a local police station or sheriff’s office and request a background check.
Clear a substance abuse screen.
Provide copies of all degrees prior to your first day of employment.
Clear a Motor Vehicles Record check and must be insurable under the company’s automobile policy.
Provide copy of driver’s license.
Provide copy of automobile insurance if deemed to be a driving risk.
Positive references.
Clear an E-Verify check to substantiate that the successful candidate meets the Department of Homeland Security authorization requirements to work in the United States (for more information visit www.dhs.gov/e-verify).
