Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program provides comprehensive, person-centered services designed to support all aspects of a client’s life—including employment and education.

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Vocational Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. In this role, you will support individuals with serious mental illness in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment and pursuing educational opportunities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver individualized, community-based vocational services aligned with recovery goals and client preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized vocational assessment and service planning based on client strengths, interests, and goals
  • Assist clients in job search activities, including resume development, applications, and interview preparation
  • Support clients in accessing educational and vocational training opportunities
  • Integrate employment services with mental health treatment in collaboration with ACT team members
  • Educate clients on workplace expectations, communication skills, and job retention strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and client progress in accordance with agency standards
  • Participate in daily team meetings, case conferences, and coordinated care activities
  • Provide outreach and engagement services in community-based settings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in vocational services, supported employment, or behavioral health
  • Knowledge of supported employment models (e.g., Individual Placement and Support – IPS) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage clients and employers effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in ACT or other community-based behavioral health programs
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
