This position follows a 10-month calendar, offering a schedule aligned with the school year. Benefits deductions will be withheld and distributed across all 12-months of the year to ensure continuous benefits during the months when the employee is not active. This position will be working Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. 

 

 

 

 

What you'll be doing: 


Perform mental health counseling services in an In-School Counseling Program within the Huntsville City Schools system to reduce barriers in obtaining these services because of travel, time of day, etc.
Perform crisis intervention and resolution as necessary.
Perform assessments, intakes, transfers and discharges on clients. 
Manage client caseload, follow up with clients & guardians.
Act as a liaison between school personnel and parents with community referral sources to ensure a holistic support system.
Monitor client’s progress toward goals.
Obtain release forms from parents to adhere to all HIPAA confidentiality standards.
Document information per standards in electronic client chart, i.e. Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, referrals, etc. in a timely & accurate manner. 
Maintain billable service and productivity standards.
Attend required training, staff meetings.
Complete other duties as assigned.

QualificationsWhat we're looking for:  


Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field with an internship/practicum
Previous experience working with children/adolescents preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Excellent organizational skills to include suspense/timeframe management
Ability to work independently
